12V and 24V DC are the most regular input voltage of the low voltage LED strip lights. But for most countries and regions in the world, the standard voltage is set in the range of 110V to 240V AC. Therefore, the adaptor is needed to transfer the high voltage AC to the low voltage DC to fit the LED strip's working voltage. First of all, please cut off the power for safety. In the adaptor, we can find the "Input" and "Output". The "Input" should be connected to the power by power cord or wires. And the LED strip should be connect to the "Output" that is the low voltage ouput of the adaptor. In general, the positive pole is shown in "V+" or red wire, and the nagetive pole is shown in "V-" or black wire. If there are any other devices such as controller, dimmer, etc. needed to be installed in the system to control the LED strip light or acheive more light effects, they should be connteced on between the adaptor and LED strip lights.
